Well, technically it was Ogden Nash that coined that testament to the efficiency of booze, but most people probably credit it to Mr. Wonka. It‘s one of the many memorable quotes from the best movie ever made, 1971’s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory starring Gene Wilder in the title role. To paraphrase the great candymaker, inside this blog post some of my dreams become realities, and some of my realities become dreams. And I, dear readers, dream in booze.
In homage to my favorite film, I present to you an array of cocktails inspired by the spectacular characters and delectable story created by Roald Dahl.

Up first is Mike Teevee, the kid addicted to television, cowboy shows in particular, who ultimately is reduced to action figure stature through the revolutionary process of Wonkavision.
Mike’s cowboy getup inspired me to use tequila as the base spirit (and I happened to have a bottle of tequila shaped like a gun- even better!) and the white chocolate liqueur spiked with Grand Marnier go really well with it. And the extra dollop of chocolate via the creme de cacao makes it Wonka-worthy. These are very easy to drink!
Mike Teevee's Tequilavision
2 oz. Tequila
1.5 oz. Godiva White Chocolate liqueur
1 oz Grand Marnier
.25 oz. white crème de cacao
Rim a cocktail glass with multicolored sugar. Put all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice, shake vigorously, strain into sugar-rimmed glass. Enjoy!
